    Even though excessive perspiration can be difficult to control, it’s crucial to realise that there are strategies for doing so. Here are some strategies and treatments that can help you regain control and confidence:

    • Antiperspirants: Clinical-strength antiperspirants containing aluminium chloride hexahydrate can reduce sweat production when applied to affected areas.
    • Iontophoresis: This non-invasive treatment involves a device that delivers a low-level electrical current to the skin’s surface, effectively blocking sweat glands.
    • Botox Injections: Botulinum toxin injections can temporarily block the nerves that trigger sweat production. Underarm perspiration responds quite well to this treatment.
    • Prescription Medications: In some cases, medications like anticholinergics may be prescribed to reduce aberrant perspiration.
    • Microwave Therapy: A relatively new treatment option, microwave therapy (miraDry) uses microwave energy to target and eliminate sweat glands in the underarms.
    • Surgery: For severe cases of hyperhidrosis, surgical options like sympathectomy may be considered, although this is typically a last resort due to potential side effects.
